Looking for something that is not full time? We need substitute teachers! Here is a message from our district:

Basehor-Linwood families -

The Basehor-Linwood School District has an immediate need for substitute teachers in our buildings this school year. Due to a shortage of substitute teachers across the state of Kansas, KSDE has approved an opportunity for individuals to temporarily qualify for an emergency substitute license from now through December 31, 2022.

If you are interested in applying for an emergency substitute license before December 31, 2022, please fill out our substitute teacher interest survey.

You must meet the following criteria to temporarily qualify for an emergency substitute license:

  • High school diploma

  • Future completion of Greenbush’s Emergency Substitute Training Modules

  • Verification of hire from a local education agency (LEA) / school district

  • Application and $60 processing fee (Reimbursable upon active license and sub position)

  • Fingerprint background check and fee. Individuals who previously received a TEAL substitute license are not required to re-submit fingerprints

  • Individuals may serve no more than 15 consecutive days in the same assignment

If you have any questions, please contact the principal in the building you wish to substitute for more information.

A Note From Nurse Karla

In accordance with Kansas Statute 72-6229 and Kansas Statute 72-5205 , I will be performing hearing screenings to all students in K, 1, 3 and 5 and vision screenings for K-3 and 5th graders beginning next week. I will also screen any new students to the district. Results will be sent home with students following their screenings.

We need cookies and volunteers!

Hi parents! PTO loves to organize cookies for each music program but we need your help! If your child is performing on a certain night, please sign up to bring cookies so parents and students can enjoy them after the show. If you don't have a child performing for that grade level performance, please consider signing up to volunteer to work at the cookie table. Thank you! You can sign up here: Music Programs

November Eagles Nests activity

For our 2nd time meeting in our Eagles Nests, which will be on November 22, students and staff will have the opportunity to create cards that will be used for gifts for the Joy Meadows Holiday Party. Also for this party, we will be collecting wrapping supplies. We are not asking for parents to go out and purchase anything for this but rather, if you have extra wrapping paper or gift bags still in good condition that you are willing to donate, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! For more information about our plan, see flyer below and for more information about what Joy Meadows is, go to www.joymeadows.org to learn more.
