March Attendance Challenge
Reading Challenge
Message from Mrs. Moe
I want to spend a little time talking about attendance. Regular school attendance is the #1 factor in students being successful in school and is a predictor of high school graduation. Regular attendance looks at the % of students attending 90% of the time or more.
Missing 10%, or about 2 days each month over the course of a school year, can make it harder to learn to read. Families, we need your help. The last 3 months at LME, regular attendance has declined. This is concerning as these are instructional hours and minutes that your student is missing.
This month we have an attendance challenge with classes competing March Madness style! Please partner with us by sending your child to school each day unless they are very sick. We love to see their smiling faces everyday and Each DAY there is high level learning that we want them to engage with!!!
Also...READ, READ read at home and color in steps to earn a clover on our "Pot of Goal'ds" challenge!! Students passing their Power Goals and Reading at home and school are receiving a clover every time! Last month 3rd Grade won and received time playing "Capture the Flag" outside. It was super fun!
Lastly, conferences are coming up!! Please look for information from your child's teacher. A conference is incredibly important to connect with your child's teacher and to ensure you know how your child is doing in school.
