Many Hands, One Mason!!
September 30th, 2018
Dear Mason Families,
I can't believe that tomorrow is October 1st! We have really enjoyed getting to know your child as a learner over the last four weeks of school. Please have a conversation with your child about the importance of coming to school but also being on time. It takes a lot of time for students who are tardy to feel comfortable at the start of the school day when they are late.
Everyone should have received, completed and returned their conference time selection form last week. Your child's teacher will be in contact with you early next week to let you know what time your conference will be held. If for any reason, you can't make it at that time or you didn't turn your form in, please connect with your child(ren)'s teacher asap! If you can't make it, please let us know so we can try to our best to get creative (skype, facetime, phone call, etc...) so we can partner with you to create a success plan for your child(ren). We would love to have at least one family member representing each child at conferences on Oct. 10th and 11th!
Have a wonderful week,
Roy Bishop, Jr.
Principal

Mark your calendars for our First Ever... Many Hands, Many Desserts Night presented by our Mason Parent Group!!!
We are excited to announce that Nov. 10th from 3-5 pm will be our first Many Hands, Many Desserts Event at Mason where we will be focusing on learning more about each other as a community. We will have performers, games, speakers and opportunities to connect with the Mason Community. More information will be coming out soon but please mark this event on your calendars as it will be an event you won't want to miss. Please begin thinking about a game, desert or anything else your family would be willing to share with the Mason community; we will definitely need your support to make this a great experience for our learners.
LIM Focus for the month of October: Begin with the End in Mind
Begin With the End in Mind means to think about how you would like something to turn out before it getting it started.
Please talk with your child about one of their growth areas and help them Begin With the End in Mind by coming up with a plan with them that allows them to experience even more success than ever.
Example: Growth Area: Keeping your hands to yourself
Begin With the End in Mind Questions/Discussion Topics:
How are you going to communicate with your friends when you don't agree with something they are doing?
What do you do when someone is not treating your fairly?
How might the other person feel when you do something unkind to them?
What can you do to calm down when you get upset at something?
End Goal: To be able to communicate with others while keeping our hands to ourselves.
Thank you for having these Begin With the End in Mind conversions with your child!!

Please plan ahead as students cannot be released for appointments during the drill.
The district will notify you when the drill is complete and students are back in class. Thank you for partnering with us to provide a safe and secure learning environment.
