A Message From Mr. Loversky
We are getting closer to the start of school! Our list of questions is shrinking as what we know about how we will operate this year grows. I am going to ask a favor this year: please read and watch everything I send you. I will be sending you various things, such as:
- videos on how we will do passing periods that we need you to watch with your student
- a diagram on how students drop-off and pick-up will work since we expect greater volume
- a video of how buses will work at the end of the day with a link to a Google Doc that will tell your child where their bus is loading
- And more!
This year, communication is more important than ever. I am getting many emails and Let's Talk messages with questions that may be answered in one of three places:
- The CUSD303 Reopening Schools Plan (en español)
- The D303 Reopen School Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Emails or Newsletters that I have sent you
I would encourage you to look for information in these places before sending a text or email. Also, I would suggest creating a folder in your email for school communications so that you can find them easily. Between working to open school safely, getting the building and our staff ready, my inbox is overflowing. Currently, I am struggling to respond to emails in a timely manner. As always, I will continue to work to reply to you within 48 hours.
I understand the challenges we all face as we look to the start of the school year. If we are patient, understanding, and kind to each other, the start of this school year will be a good one!
Best-
Tim Loversky, Principal

Welcome & WEB Tours for our 6th Grade Students
IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR 6TH GRADE WEB TOURS, PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW!
UPDATE: WE WILL HAVE A VIRTUAL WEB EVENT OPTION FOR OUR 6TH GRADE STUDENTS WHO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND EITHER DATE. MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW.
We want to welcome you to Wredling Middle School! We are WEB, a student leadership program that helps transition our 6th graders into their first year of middle school. One of the ways we welcome new 6th graders to our building is 6th-grade orientation. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, this year’s 6th-grade orientation plans have been modified to meet the requirements of Illinois State Covid-19 Guidelines.
In early August, your 6th grader(s) will receive a welcome email from an 8th-grade WEB Leader that will include a link to video introductions to our WEB leader and will also include “survival tips” for the transition to middle school. Hopefully, the small glimpse of what it is like to be a WMS student will help ease your student’s mind as they start the new year.
Another opportunity we would like to offer students is tours of the building in a small group setting. The tours will be available on August 7th from 9:00 - 12:00 or August 10th from 4:00 - 7:00 (we are limited to one tour per student; please note, if you have multiple incoming 6th-grade children, please sign each student up separately; tours are for students only).
The socially distanced tours will last about 25 minutes and finish with a 20 minute Q & A session for a total of 45 minutes. There will be no more than 10 students per group with no more than 7 groups in the building at one time. All students are expected to wear a mask for the duration of the time in the building per Illinois State Guidelines. During these tours, students will have an opportunity to meet WEB Leaders and other 6th graders, tour the building and ask any questions they have about starting 6th grade. To sign up for a guided tour, please click HERE. If you are logging in for the first time, please log in with the email address that is on file with the district and create a password. If you have logged in before, use the password already created. If you have any questions or issues, contact support@pickatime.com.
We understand that our incoming 6th graders may be feeling anxious about the start of their new year, but we hope these opportunities will provide some support with the transition to Wredling. We are so excited to meet all of our new Redhawks!
Sincerely,
Your WEB Coordinators
Kirsten Cwinski - 7th-grade Counselor
Becca Campbell - 8th grade Social Worker
Jen Amadei - 8th Grade Teacher
Chrissy McPeak - 6th-grade Teacher

Backpacks and School Supplies
Students will be allowed to carry backpacks with them throughout the day. We are developing a plan so that students carry only minimal supplies with them. We are not amending our normal supply lists as of right now hoping that we will be back together at some point this year. Also, teachers will be asking students to bring supplies that will be kept in that teacher’s classroom (ie. a binder for science may be kept in that classroom or a notebook for PLTW may be kept in the PLTW room). We want to leave room in the backpacks for a sweatshirt, lunch, and water bottle. We will share the “What to carry in my backpack” document at Material Pick-up.
We are also creating a plan for PE so that student backpacks are secured and monitored during class knowing that cell phones and other valuables will be kept in the backpacks.
