Message From The Principal
Good Afternoon Stoller families,
Hybrid continues to run smoothly. Thank you all for your cooperation and support.
Teacher appreciation week is next week. We are thankful to our PTO for organizing donations and surprises for staff. Your contributions are appreciated.
Teachers are doing an incredible job managing the cohort of students in front of them, while ensuring that the ones at home still feel a part of the community. As a parent, I am grateful for my children’s teachers. I know it has been a difficult year and I understand the challenges and struggles they have dealt with. I am very appreciative of all their work.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Important News
Hybrid Drop Off & Pick Up Reminders
As a safety precaution, we are reminding all parents to drop off and pick up students through the front parking lot.
Parents, please refrain from entering the bus drop off area in the back of the school either by car or on foot. This causes safety concerns with student walkers and moving buses. Also, it is imperative that we know who is always on our campus to ensure student safety.
If you are walking your student to school from the neighborhood behind Stoller, please drop them off at the entrance to campus. All portions of our campus except the front parking lot and office are closed to the public from 8:10 to 4:30.
Thank you for your understanding.

Students Needing Chromebooks for In Person Learning (IPL)
For students who have been using a personal device for Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) and are joining us for IPL and want a Chromebook, please put in a request through a Student Help Desk ticket by emailing shd@beaverton.k12.or.us.
Please include the following in the ticket:
- If you are in Group 1 or Group 2
- Student ID number
For those students who have obtained devices for IPL, you may want to Opt-in to the insurance plan in case the devices get damaged. To do so, you would either opt-in through the Online Registration- Fall verification/family updates module in ParentVue or by calling the school (503) 356-2680 and asking them to Opt you in. Once that is done, the following day, the $20 fee will be available to pay through the online payment system.
*If you would like to continue using your personal, portable device, for IPL you are welcome to. Please keep in mind that the only assistance we may be able to provide is getting the device connected to our network. - Aaron Guo (8th grade),
- Aiden Gao (8th grade),

The theme of this year's competition was “Engineering Solutions in a Pandemic”. Three main parts were tested and competed including; (1) Essay, (2) Design / Build, and (3) Multiple choices. This year, the event went virtually and the participating teams came from various states in the US and country.
Stoller students achieved excellent scores in the design/build and mulitple choices parts of the competition. In the end, the team won first place in both the Oregon state competition & the national competition.
Congratulations! We are proud of the team’s achievement in both the State and National competitions.

Oregon Scholastic Chess Federation State Tournament
Over the April 9-11 weekend, more than 300 Oregon scholastic chess players came together to compete at the annual OSCF (Oregon Scholastic Chess Federation) state tournament. The 2021 tournament was the largest gathering of scholastic chess players by far and it was 100% online.
Several students from Stoller delivered outstanding results both in the individual and team categories of the tournament. Stoller’s world-class players were invited to play in the top sections throughout the tournament and their performance reflected their national-level chess ratings.
The proudest part of the tournament was that an all-star team from Stoller won first place in the top section of the team tournament. Stoller’s dream team consisted of the following 5 players:
Zoey Tang (7th grade)
Havish Sripada (6th grade)
Ethan Zhang (8th Grade)
Ishaan Kodarapu (6th grade)
Arthur Yang (6th Grade)
Together they scored 20.5 points out of a possible 25 points maximum and finished in first place in the very competitive top section. They also placed 2nd overall among all the sections which included teams not just from elementary and middle schools, but all the best high-school chess teams!!
These five players also performed exceedingly well in the individual categories, with Zoey Tang and Havish Sripada taking first and second place respectively in the most competitive “Middle School Platinum” section of the tournament. With her first-place title, Zoey automatically qualified to represent Oregon in the Barber national tournament of middle school Champions.
This team’s performance in 2021 is another proud feather in the cap of Stoller’s long history of amazing chess success stories. Hearty congratulations to these gifted Stoller students.

Stoller Volunteers
Welcome Stoller Volunteers!
Volunteering in the 2020-21 school year will be unlike previous years. Although we are unsure what remote volunteer needs will be, we invite you to create a volunteer profile or update your existing profile. This will ensure you are able to help Stoller staff and students through volunteer work as opportunities arise. A volunteer profile is required for all volunteering within BSD schools. Please follow the steps below to update or create your volunteer profile. Additional information is available at www.stollerpto.com/volunteer.
Existing BSD Volunteers (new to Stoller)
Please send an email to update_volunteer_locations@beaverton.k12.or.us and request to add Stoller Middle School to the organizations listed in your mVP account. Provide your full first and last name as it appears in your profile. If you will no longer be volunteering at an elementary school, you may also request to remove that school from your profile.
New BSD Volunteers
If you are a new volunteer to the Beaverton School District, you must create a volunteer account. This process includes a background check.
- Parent/Guardian: Complete the Parent/Guardian Volunteer Application
- Community Volunteer: Complete the Community Volunteer Application (This applies to Grandparents, Nannies, Neighbors, etc)
- Youth Volunteers: Complete the Youth Volunteer Application
Within the application, please include all of the BSD schools where you are a volunteer. You will have one profile for all your BSD volunteering.
- This step also initiates a background check. It will come up for renewal every 2 years.
- Once your background check is complete, you will receive an email from Stoller PTO stating your background check approval status, and your volunteer profile at myimpactpage.com will be active.
Thank you for giving your time and talents to Stoller this school year!
If you have any issues with your device or logging in, you will need to contact the Student Help Desk.
