Principal's Update

Hello Hilton Families,

It's hard to believe we are already headed into the new year. I'd like to thank you for your patience and understanding with all the changes we've had to make to keep everyone safe at Hilton. Not being able to visit your child's school, or attend events makes it difficult for everyone. However, your children are doing a great job in school. They are excited to learn, and have adapted to all the new routines better than I ever would have expected.

The Hilton staff have been amazing from the start. Their commitment and dedication to teaching and learning has created a learning environment that is safe and challenging for children. My appreciation for their effort is immeasurable.

I want to wish you and your family the best over the holiday season. Relax and enjoy this valuable time with your family,

Brighton Ford

The holiday season is the perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek out ways to help those around us. Your effort to help those around you was made very clear at the Brighton Ford Drive through Santa Event, as the Hilton Hounds donated 650 gifts, more than any other school, to Toys for Tots. Along with the other elementary schools, Toys for Tots received over 1500 gifts from the Brighton Community. This outpouring of support created overwhelming joy for the organizers of Toys for Tots. I am very proud to be part of such a great community. Thank you Hilton Hounds.

Report Cards / Student Attendance

Report cards may have displayed attendance reports that included items related to absence for quarantine or isolation. Absent for Quarantine is created the same as a medical absence, which is not counted as an absence. The district is working with county officials to clarify attendance reporting and make corrections for COVID related absences.

Happy Holidays,

Jeff Eisele

Hilton Principal

News from our School Nurse

I would like to thank all the parents who fill out the covid survey everyday. This survey is a reminder to check your child(ren) if they are safe to come to school. We appreciate those who take the extra precaution in keeping their kids home when ill. Please continue to fill out the survey even if your child(ren) will be out due to illness.

If you or anyone in your home have tested positive to COVID 19 or have been exposed to a known positive case, please visit the Livingston County Health Department and fill out the self reporting tool and let myself, Mr. Eisele or our secretaries know. The health department has been very overwhelmed with cases, therefore you may not hear from them. The self reporting tool was made to determine the quarantine period which has been confirmed by the health department. This tool is solely based on the honor system. To ensure the health of everyone in the school and prevent the spread of COVID, it is very important to fill out this tool truthfully as this is what the health department uses to determine the quarantine dates.

Thank you all for your cooperation. It is truly a team effort from all of us to keep our school open for in-person learning. I wish you all a very safe and enjoyable holiday season and wishing the best for 2021.

Important Attendance Reminder

Please remember to call in your student's absence to the attendance line (810) 299-3954 as early as possible if they will not be in attendance that day. Please mention all symptoms the student(s) is experiencing.

If it is a COVID related illness or possible exposure, it helps us with contact tracing the sooner we are informed.

Thank you for your assistance with this as we try to keep everyone safe.
