Fun Run Update!

Thank you again for all your support with our fun run. We have currently collected approximately 85% of all pledges, which is FANTASTIC! If you still have pledges that need to be turned in, it's not too late. Simply send them in to your child's teacher by next Thursday, 3/8. Payment can be received in the form of cash or check (preferred) made payable to Dyer Elementary, (there is no online payment option this year). Thanks again for all of your support!

Attention 3rd & 4th Grade Parents

Please join us next Thursday, 3/8 at 6:00PM to learn more about our 4th & 5th grade blended learning classrooms, and how your child can participate in this program for the 2018-2019 school year. We are looking forward to sharing more information with you about this exciting opportunity. Please R.S.V.P via this Google form, and let us know if you plan to attend.

Reminder - School is in Session Friday 3/9

Our second Tropical Storm Irma make up day is Friday 3/9.

Mother's Day Cake Orders

It's that time of year again! The sweetest gifts are filled with love, and this Mother's Day the Publix Bakery is helping your child-and our school-give the moms in their life an especially sweet gift. Publix will deliver a delicious heart-shaped cake to school on Friday, May 11th, for your child to decorate and bring home as a special Mother's Day gift. Even sweeter? Every cake earns $1.50 for Dyer's Care Team. The cost is $8 per cake, and orders will be collected via MyPaymentsPlus. If you have more than one student attending Dyer, and would like each of your children to decorate a cake, be sure to order a cake under each child's name in your MyPaymentsPlus account. Due to scheduling and time constraints, we are unable to have siblings decorate one cake together. Students are able to purchase and decorate multiple cakes (maybe for step-mom or grandma?); simply adjust the quantity when placing your order. Deadline for orders is Friday, March 16th.

Healthy Habits - Please Read!

As you know, we are deep in the middle of cold and flu season! Please take a moment to review the Healthy Habits listed below. They will help keep you and your family healthy protected from all these nasty germs! Don't forget to remind your students of these ways to keep from getting ill too!

Georgia Parent Survey

Please help us improve our school by taking a few minutes to complete an important survey for the State of Georgia.

The Georgia Parent Survey is from the State of Georgia and assists with our College and Career Readiness Climate Star Rating. You may complete the State survey on your computer, smartphone, or tablet or in the Dyer Media Center. We would like ALL parents to complete this State survey, and all responses are anonymously submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Please click here to access the State survey.

We hope you will take a few minutes to complete this important survey to help us improve Dyer Elementary. Thanks for your support!

Bear Reader Program

The Bear Reader Program has begun. There are no special reading logs required. We are asking that the students read at least 20 minutes for five days of the week. The students already have reading logs that they have as part of their homework. Fill out the homework reading log every day. At the end of each month, the teachers will e-mail Mrs. Langford with the names of the students who have read at least 20 minutes for five days of the week. The students who complete this monthly reading goal will earn a brag tag. Brag tags are fun dog tags. The children will be able to collect a new brag tag at the end of each month. Let's see who can collect them all!

Birthday Wishes in Big Lights!

You may have noticed that birthdays can now be displayed on our school marquee. For just $5, you can wish your student a happy birthday during his/her birthday week. All proceeds benefit our "PAWS" initiative. (Summer birthdays will run during the last week of school, and during your child's birthday week.) To register your child, simply log into their MyPaymentsPlus account. Note: requests will be processed next business day.

Yearbook Orders

To order your copy of the 2017-2018 yearbook, simply log on to and enter our school's order number: 10768.
