CommonLit is a nonprofit education technology organization dedicated to ensuring that all students, especially students in Title I schools, graduate with the reading, writing, communication, and problem-solving skills they need to be successful in college and beyond.
We believe in providing teachers with all the resources they need to set their students up for success, while also encouraging best practices in the classroom. That’s why the CommonLit Literacy Model is built on a foundation of over 2,000 high-quality free reading passages for grades 3-12, complemented by aligned interim assessments, growth-oriented data, and expert-led teacher development.

TWO KEY RESOURCES
Structured Literacy Trainings
Health and PE Collaboration Training
This training can be for new Health and PE educators and/or a refresher course for those who previously had the Health and PE training. This in-person hands-on training will examine the proposed new skills-based standards that reflect current trends, practices and concepts as well as appropriate terminology. Participants will be provided time to work with the new outcomes, applying them to areas in their own curricula and will be aware of how the shift to skills-based standards will encourage all students to be lifelong and healthy learners. This session also provides an in-depth training on the PA HPED Skills and Knowledge-Based outcomes. Participants will learn how to interpret the outcomes then create a scope and sequence followed by a review of a sample health and physical education lesson plan. There is no cost for this training and will have a working lunch, therefore, please bring a packed lunch or order a lunch delivery on your own as an option. The link to register: https://www.mylearningplan.com/WebReg/ActivityProfile.asp?D=10228&I=4572084

With an emphasis on classroom alignment to workforce needs, team composition should include teachers from both elementary and secondary. We are excited to include representatives from the Apprenticeship & Training Office (ATO) to share resources about pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships. The goal of this training is to introduce new staff and reacquaint existing staff with new developments, trainings, and initiatives that utilize stakeholder and workforce partnerships to expand the classroom to career connections and build schoolwide momentum for career readiness.
