Wellness Wednesday Topic: Breast Cancer Awareness

Taking care of our bodies, minds, relationships and emotions all contribute to good mental health and overall well-being. So far this year, we have been focusing on emotions and relationship health. This week, we want to layer in some physical health awareness.

In addition to October being Bullying Prevention Month, it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Nurse Robin has prepared this excellent INFO SHEET for our students and staff. Please be sure to check it out and share it with those you love!

Take care of your bodies, Chargers! Consider doing an act of service on behalf of Breast Cancer Awareness this month! Reach out to anyone in S3 if you have concerns about yourself or someone in your life.

Charger Staff Playlist - Ms. Ruble, Assistant Principal

We invited your teachers, bus drivers, counselors, support staff, custodians, administrators, cafeteria staff, and every other adult who works at Cox Mill High School to share the songs that are their "Playlist for Students." This week's selection is from Ms. Ruble, Assistant Principal, who is working very hard creating safe halls "of fame" (and other spaces) in our school as we ready for F2F (Face to Face) later this month.

SEL (Social Emotional Learning)

This week's SEL topic is Social Justice & Identity. What is identity? It encompasses memories, experiences, relationships, and values that shape our sense of self. It can be formed by our talents, interests, social and economic status, religion or nation of origin. Identity can changed based on our environment.

Reflection Questions:

  1. How do we label ourselves?
  2. How are we labeled by others?
  3. How are we influenced by how we think others see us?
  4. How do our identifies inform our ideas and our actions?
  5. How do we handle multiple identities?

"I am limitless. I am endless."
