Jasper High School
Dear Jasper Parents:
On behalf of the Jasper staff, I want to invite you to our Fall Open House scheduled for Wednesday evening, September 16. During the evening, you will be able to tour our facilities, visit with the Jasper teachers, and experience the educational programming in place for your son or daughter. What we need to make the evening a success is YOU! Our goal is 100% attendance by our parents. Due to the limited seating in the classrooms and the desire to provide our information to parents during Fall Open House, we ask that students not attend. Students will be invited, along with their parents, to attend Spring Open House.
The building will open at 6:00 p.m. and the modified class schedule will begin promptly at 6:20 p.m. Parking for Fall Open House is extremely limited, so please utilize available parking at Gulledge Elementary, Robinson Middle School, or Christ Church’s east parking lot (located on the corner of Legacy and Archgate). Please remember that the fire lanes on campus should remain clear at all times and the handicap parking spaces remain reserved for the individuals who need them.
Please ask your student to help complete the form below and bring it with you to Fall Open House. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening, September 16.

PTSA Meeting and Meet the Principal
What is "block lunch"? What is "homework free Thursday"?
Thursday, September 10 at 11:30, Jasper HS principal, Dr. Matthew Endsley, will answer those questions and more! Join us at the first Jasper PTSA General Meeting of the year in Room 1100. Looking forward to seeing you there!
There is still time to join the Jasper PTSA.
Single family memberships are $15.50, additional family members are $8.50. Students who are members in both 9th and 10th grades are eligible for a senior scholarship.
How do we use those funds? Last year, the Jasper PTSA was able to support the school by purchasing items such as: science dissection specimens, math supplies, band sound equipment, and orchestra uniforms. We give away 2 Senior Scholarships per year. We support the band, orchestra, choir, theater, athletics, drill team, and other clubs. We support the teachers by purchasing things from their wish lists for their classrooms, providing lunch, and treats throughout the year. We pay for guest speakers for student assemblies. We provide speakers for College Night, Driver's License Eduction Night, and other programs. We fund the materials needed for spirit week. We orchestrate JagFest lunches, so the students and teachers can enjoy a school-wide outdoor lunch.
Please join today, at jasperptsa.org, so we can continue to support your student's learning and activities at Jasper.

National Honor Society Information
Attention Interested SOPHOMORES ONLY! Jasper High School’s National Honor Society will have its first meeting on Tuesday, September 8, in Room 1100 at both 8:20 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. so everyone has a chance to attend one of the informational gatherings. Mrs. Radebaugh and Ms. Diers will be there to distribute information packets and answer questions about eligibility. The most important criterion for candidacy include: Sophomore standing, a GPA 3.6 or higher (cumulative), and the ability to complete 12 hours of community service during each semester in the 2015-2016 school year (24 hours total).
Students who meet the above criteria become candidates. You are not a member of NHS until you have completed all of the necessary requirements for membership. Candidates who successfully complete requirements will receive notification of membership induction which will occur in mid-May.
NHS membership is not a right guaranteed to all students; it is an honor granted by the faculty to students who uphold the four ideals of National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
If you believe that you qualify for candidacy for membership in Jasper’s NHS chapter, be sure to come to one of the meetings listed above on September 8! We’ll be looking for you!
