Be sure to use the grade from your Canvas course.

Grades entered in the data console must be a numerical grade!

Be sure not to enter letter grades. This is a change from previous instructions.

If your course includes a state test, please use your course grade as 80% and the state test as 20% of the final grade.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Christopher Bronson.

GCSVPS End of Year Updates

Several important details for coming weeks related to GCSVPS were shared during our most recent staff meeting. We have included the PowerPoint from the meeting here.

Spring 2016 GCSVPS Courses

Spring 2016 is right around the corner!

As we prepare for the next semester we will be evaluating teachers based on their communication, meeting attendance, and class performance. Be on the lookout for contracts and course information for Spring 2016!

This year our main goal for GCSVPS is to achieve a 95% passing rate. As of November 30th, we are at 89%. Let's strive for the goal!

Teacher of the Month

Congratulations to Brittany Smith for being selected as our December GCSVPS Teacher of the Month!

Brittany works as a science teacher at Andrews High School and teaches Earth Environmental Science for GCSVPS.

Congratulations Brittany!

GCSVPS is Now Recognizing Students of the Month!

Our virtual teachers nominate one student from their class each month, and then two students are chosen: one student from a core course and one student from an elective course.

For December our Students of the Month are:

  • Koriah Smith, a student at High Point Central High taking English I with Mrs. Crane.
  • Benita Ehm, a student at Eastern High taking Journalism with Mrs. Paylor.

The student will be recognized by the Virtual Learning team with the following:

  • a certificate recognizing their selection

  • a $10 gift card donated by a local business or restaurant

  • a picture of the student with his or her e-learning advisor and/or principal posted on the Virtual Learning Website.

Here is a link to view monthly winners!

Click here to nominate a student in your class.

We are excited about these new recognitions and hope that we continue to see great growth with GCSVPS!

GCSVPS Guiding Principles

Our goal is to ensure our program is held to a high level of accountability and rigor. For our program to be a success, we have to follow four key principles:

  • Communicate with Students, Parents, ELAs, and the Coordinator
  • Set and Achieve Goals
