Much of the information contained in the Class of 2023 News and Updates will also be placed on the Schoology page.
Commencement at Pine Knob - Thursday, May 18th
The commencement ceremony for the Class of 2023 will be held on May 18th at Pine Knob Music Theater at 7:00 PM. We look forward to warmer weather and celebrating our seniors at this beautiful and historical venue.
Tickets for Commencement:
Due to both security and capacity limits, we will be implementing a ticketing process where each graduating student can request as many guest tickets as they need up to a total of eleven (11) - not including the graduate. Commencement tickets will be at no charge and will not be attached to any specific seat assignment. The purpose of ticketing for entry is to make sure all in attendance are tied to a graduating student and have reason to be at the commencement celebration. Details of the ticket request process will be made available during the second week of April. Commencement tickets will be distributed with cap and gowns on May 3rd.
Any tickets remaining will be made available after May 10th. Stay tuned for more details in future Class of 2023 News and Updates.
Commencement Speaker Opportunity
Each year, two graduating OHS seniors are designated as honored speakers at the commencement ceremony. The first speaker is the class Valedictorian, with the other chosen from a group of students who demonstrate a desire to address their fellow classmates. If you would like to be considered for this honor, please see the Commencement Speaker Criteria Packet found in the OHS main office for speech criteria and strictly enforced deadlines.
Senior Exams and Exemption Criteria
For those seniors not exempt from exams or electing to take exams to improve their grade, exams will be held on the Thursday and Friday after our seniors last full day. Senior exams will be given during the normal bell schedule on Thursday, May 4th and Friday, May 5th. Seniors may qualify for exam exemption if they meet the two criteria outlined below.
Senior Exam Exemption Criteria (for the Class of 2023 Only)
