Calling All Library Books!
Please take a minute to check around your house, car, or under the beds for any library books. Hundreds of books were checked out before winter break, and many of them have not been returned. There will be no fines due at this time for any of the overdue books.

Vision and Hearing Screening
Each year Douglas County Schools conduct vision and hearing screening for all students in the state-mandated grade levels
- Who: Grades K, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9, new students to the District and special education students in other grades.
- When: February 8th during school hours
- By Whom: The screenings are overseen by the school nurse consultants and conducted by the District Vision and Hearing Screening Team.

Please Note: If you would like to have your student 'opt out', you will need to do so in writing prior to the start of the screen. Please email your 'opt out' letter to jalederfine@dcsdk12.org or bring a physical letter to the CCE front office.

Concrete resources and activities will be provided during these interactive virtual trainings.

What is social-emotional development and why is it important? How can we support children returning to early childhood programs in the midst of a pandemic? This workshop will help providers recognize social emotional concerns in young children, create activities to help this growth, and consider community support resources. This interactive training is designed to give you practical information you can use.

Building Resilience in Young Children
Resilience describes the handling of stress, trauma, and adversity. We all experience varying levels of challenges in our lives and the way we bounce back from them demonstrates how resilient we can be. We will explore why resilience is important, activities that promote resilience, and how caregivers can build their own capacity for resilience during difficult times.

Bridge Program - Development Pathways
The 18-21 Bridge Program will host a parent engagement session with Developmental Pathways February 23, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. on planning for guardianship for students with disabilities. Please click here to access this flyer.
4th and 5th Graders -Every Kid Outdoors
Check out this national program called Every Kid Outdoors. This great program provides free passes for 4th graders to any federal public land, water, or park (including national parks). This year, 5th grade is also eligible through August.
