One reminder that I received this week is this picture.
I was reading this week from one of my favorite authors, Mark Batterson, and this statement jumped out at me, "We have a natural tendency to remember what we should forget and forget what we should remember.." This goes right along with the picture that I have added to the left. This picture was taken from my car this weekend and gave me moments to pause. As we traveled down the highway, I felt like the rainbow was following us. (Did you know that rainbows always appear in sections of the sky that are directly opposite of the sun?) Rainbows, for me, are a reminder of peace. Don't we all need reminders of peace in the midst of December?
I purposely keep reminders in my office, pictures of staff, students and colleagues that remind me to stay sharp and mindful. Much like you, these reminders encourage me to continue to be reflective and learn from my mistakes. I'm thankful for reminders! So, don't be surprised if you see me with a string around my finger and I can't remember why it is there!
