Reading

Monday: Unit 1 Test analysis

Friday: Spelling Test, Vocabulary Test, & Comprehension Test

Spelling: Unit 5

Vocabulary: Unit 5

This week we will begin Unit 2: Literary Nonfiction & Drama. We will be looking at point of view and how it affects the story. Our story this week is "We Were There Too".

Math

We will begin Unit #3: Extending Decimals. Students will learn how to compare, order, estimate, and round numbers with decimals to the thousandths place. They will also learn to write numbers in standard, word, and expanded form. There is no vocabulary for Unit #3. We will be in Topic #1 in the workbooks that were sent home

Social Studies

Week #6: Revolutionary War. Students will read about The Declaration of Independence, Revolutionary War, and Nathan Hale. Students can read and do activities online @ studiesweekly.com

Science

We will finish up Force & Motion on Monday with a lab on catapults. On Tuesday we will start Unit #4: Energy. Students will learn about mechanical, thermal, sound, electrical, and light energy. On Wednesday students will begin creating a jingle or commercial to advertise a type of energy. This project will be done entirely in class.
