ONLINE REGISTRATION/VERIFICATION
All JME families must verify their registration with the school annually, even if you selected Option 2. This year, we are doing our registration process completely online. Here are the steps you need to take to complete this process.
- Go to this LINK to be directed to the Oregon City School District webpage for online registration and verification.
EMAIL VERIFICATION
Please be sure that you have double checked and included all the email addresses you have provided to the school. Email is a primary communication tool for our families. We use a mass email system called School Messenger to communicate with our families on a regular basis. School Messenger uploads email updates or changes daily from our school computer system. Please do not ever block messages from School Messenger. If you are receiving messages you do not want, simply call the school and our office staff will make all of the necessary corrections for you.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ANY PART OF THE REGISTRATION/VERIFICATION PROCESS, PLEASE CONTACT THE MAIN OFFICE. 503-785-8650 OR Diane.Webb@orecity.k12.or.us.
Please complete this process by Monday, August 17.

Family Connection
Teachers will be sending out a survey with information on how to sign up for an optional individual phone call time with a teacher from your child's grade level. This opportunity is meant to help answer any questions not answered during our Virtual Back to School Sessions and provide you the opportunity to share information about your child. Phone calls will be approximately 15 minutes and will be made by teachers from a blocked number. More information will be shared by your teachers.
School Begins September 8th
The first three weeks of school will be focused on
- getting to know your child and family
- building community amongst students
- learning digital platforms and developing routines
- class meeting and overview of learning expectations
- reading or math lesson
- teacher office hours
Families will be surveyed after September 25th to provide feedback regarding how our schedules and expectations are meeting the learning needs of our child. We will use this feedback to make adjustments in the coming weeks as we increase the academic demands for your child.
How do I request technology from the school district?
Classroom Teachers and Family Learning Pods
Family Learning Pods: Families have been reaching out to me asking for their child to be in the same classroom and cohort as other children. These decisions are not currently being made. During Comprehensive Distance Learning, all students will be interacting with all teachers at that grade level and will have the same work and learning expectations. When we enter into the hybrid model we will seek information from you regarding the creation of our cohort lists. We know that many of you have very unique child care arrangements that you are navigating and we want to take these into account as we create the cohorts. We will survey you prior to the creation of cohorts to gather this information systematically.

All students eat free at meal distribution sites; do I need to fill out the Meal Benefit Application? Yes! Families need to requalify for meal benefits after August 1st of each year. Families should do this now so that everything has been approved BEFORE the start of the Hybrid model later this year. This is especially important if your financial situation has changed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Having an accurate count of families who qualify also allows our school to apply for various grants throughout the year. You can apply for meal benefits online.
