Most Creative: Mrs. Perez - IB Spanish
Mrs. Perez and her students
Mrs. Perez's display for cooking a language highlighted the components of WICOR needed to write quality essays in Spanish.

This oven opens to show essays with editing marks. The QR codes lead to a website with a recording of the students reading their essays.

Coach Pena walks students through the levels of questioning in reference to their reading.
WICOR Tarp
Students use this tarp to determine which WICOR strategy they will highlight today. They get two chances with two different types of balls which increase in rigor. If the ball fall in a WICOR hole they have to practice that component. Example - Organization = December Calendar. If it flies off the tarp, Coach gets to choose. They also have an option to win to candy.
Interactive Social Contract
This social contract includes agreements that students have made for the class. The cards flip up with definitions and examples students have written about that component.

Seniors who complete their senior data will be given an AVID Graduate Badge to put on their resume, email and social media. The badge includes a link that explains that an AVID Graduate can self-advocate, lead effectively, communicate and collaborate and organize!

AVID College Fair Hosted By Students
AVID 9th and 10th graders researched colleged and prepared to answer all questions a college recruiter should know. they prepared tri-folds and displays for their colleges. They had to dress in business attire. Junior and Senior AVID students visited the booths like a real college fair.
AVID Stocking of Gratitude
Students decorated paper bags and displayed hung them on the board. Students left cards and messages of gratitude for their AVID family!
AVID Blanket Drive
Students watched various YouTube videos on how to make fleece blankets and took Cornell Notes. In their groups they had to compare their notes and discuss the method they wanted to use for their blankets.
