This Week...
We kicked off our unit on Volume. Students started learning about volume by exploring volume with real life cereal boxes with cereal. Then we used 1 centimeter cubes to fill boxes to demonstrate what volume means. The next day we used snapcubes to create rectangular prisms and then found volume as they created different rectangular prisms.
Upcoming Week
Next week we will continue learning about volume. Our assessment on volume will be on Wednesday, Feb. 15th.
As the year progresses, we will continue to spiral back to previously learned concepts. If you or your student know that your student isn't fluent in on a skill, strategy, or concept, please be sure to review it in their math journals. The math journals should be used to take notes, calculate a variety of problems, and it should be utilized to study from.
Conference time is coming up the last week of February. I hope to meet with as many of you as possible.
A new CML was sent home today. Please note that next week is a 4 day school week. The CML is due on Thursday, Feb. 9th.
Have a Great Super Bowl Sunday!
