Were is the volcano?
It is is in Washington state in Mt. St. Helens National Park.
Mt. St. Helens formed by an enormous landslide on May 18, 1980.
The newly formed crater is about 2 km wide.
What were the efects of the eruption?
A huge ash cloud blew into the sky and set midday to become night.
When was the eruption?
One eruption happened in 1980 and was devastating.
Mt. St. Helens is a great and wonderful mountain but was dangerous whenever it erupted!
People from all over the world come to see Washington's great volcano.
