September 2021 Information
General Information July 2021
Scenario A and B
Scenario B is where an outbreak occurs, or restrictions are applied generally due to Government guidelines changing.
At the moment, we are assuming that Scenario A will be applied. We reserve the right to apply Scenario B if it should be needed. In the event that this is needed, school will endeavour to let parents know asap.
Scenario A
What will change?
- Face coverings are no longer statutory but individuals are most welcome to wear them if they feel it necessary.
- Staff will open the gates at 8:50 am and school will begin at 9am for ALL pupils in years FS - Y6.
- Nursery timings 8:45am - 11:45am or 12:15pm - 3:15pm Children who attend Nursery for the full day can take their lunch at 11:45am as the morning session ends.
- All children can have worship, breaks and lunches in pre-covid circumstances - ie altogether.
- School will finish for all pupils from Nursery to Y6 at 3:15pm.
- The school day will no longer be staggered and the children will be able to mix at playtimes and on their playspaces.
- Y6 Elder (monitor) responsibilities will resume.
- Meetings with parents may be able to take place face to face by prior appointment and risk assessment.
- Year 6 children may bring in their mobile phone if it is needed for security for the journey to and from school providing parents have filled in the following form for permission:
What will stay the same?
- Parents of children from Y1 - 6 are to pick up and drop off their children at the gates. Staff will be on hand at the gate as they are now.
- Parents of Nursery and Foundation Stage children will be allowed on site to pick up their child from the classroom doors / playground.
- Parents must not enter the school building or site unless by agreed prior appointment.
- Children will be encouraged to use sanitiser and wash their hands thoroughly and more frequently.
- Letters and reports will be sent home via text and email.
- On PE days children will be asked to come to school in their PE kits rather than get changed in the classroom.
- Google Classroom will be in use for homework and any possible future self isolation.
- School events will continue to be risk assessed -especially those which take place indoors and are potential crowd attractions.
- Children will continue to be educated on good health and hygiene conduct.
- Teachers will bring classes out to the gates at the end of the day.
- We would ask you to still let us know if a positive case is discovered in your household.
- Breakfast club will resume (unfortunately not Teatime Club.)
- We would ask that children do not bring in any toys or items from home and that any bags the children bring in are not Gola size bags but small backpacks are acceptable.
Scenario B
If Scenario B occurs, there will be a return to the arrangements that have been in place for most of 2020 /21
If there are further lockdowns, we would also have to return to Key Worker groups, homelearning and Google Classroom.
We cannot mitigate for this scenario, or plan it in too much detail due to guidance and risk assessment that would have to be taken into account should it happen.
If at any time in the holidays it looks as though some extra measures need to be retained we wil endeavour to let you know as soon as possible.
