What Happened?
The Winter
After a deadly fight General George Washington and his troops retreated back to a small town called Valley Forge in what is now Pennsylvania for the winter of 1777 to 1778. But the base there was a devastating number of soldiers perishing every day. Almost 10 men a day were killed and food was running low. All the while Washington was working everyday to keep his soldiers alive.
