Principal's Update
May 29, 2020 - Remote Learning Newsletter #11
Saints Community,
Thank you for reading through this newsletter to the end. It is our desire to keep everyone informed and connected to the NCCS community.
We celebrate with you on the last day of the school year, and appreciate all that we have accomplished together. Our prayer for your family is that you will be healthy and safe, and that you will have time this summer to make special memories. We also pray that we have been able to show our love and care to your family during this school year. God is here and we give him all the glory for the incredible things he is doing at our school.
We will continue to provide ongoing communication through the summer to keep you informed on the plans for next school year. I ask that you please continue to communicate with us as well. Our office will be open all summer. The new summer office hours begin on June 8, Monday-Thursday, 10 am-2 pm. Feel free to call, email, or stop by if we can help you with anything.
Have a fantastic summer!
Blessings,
Mrs. James

Student Year End Checkout June 2
SEE THE LINK BELOW FOR A COMPLETE LIST OF SCHOOL PROPERTY TO BE RETURNED.
On June 2, our staff will have a scheduled time for parents to come by the school to return NCCS property (Chromebooks, textbooks, library books, materials, etc.), as well as pick up student items that have been in the classrooms, desks and lockers.
Staff will assemble student items ahead of this day, and have them bagged for a quick pick up process. We ask that you do a careful inventory at home of school property to be returned, so that we are able to clear students for year-end check out.
Library books will be collected, without any late fee charges. Damaged or lost books, textbooks, or Chromebooks, will be assessed a fee for repair or replacement.
REQUIRED: Use this sign up form to schedule your family's time (one slot per family, no matter how many students) to come by the school on June 2, 9am-3pm. We expect phyical distancing to be followed. There will be a process in place for this event, and it is our plan for it to be outside. If you bring your children, they must stay with you at all times.
Any questions about this process can be directed to mckenzie_falotico@ncchristianschool.com.

Proverbs 17:17
Friends love through all kinds of weather, and families stick together in all kinds of trouble.
Grad Spotlight: Gracie Neely
Gracie has attended NCCS for 2 years. She has been involved in volleyball, track, and Food Club. She is a member of the National Honor Society and served as President. Her favorite class is English. She plans to study this subject and technical writing in order to one day become an editor. A favorite verse of Gracie’s is Phil. 4:6. All the memories with the class are special to her, but one of favorites is the blanket fort birthday party for Hadden, Alexis, and Ava junior year. She remembers that was a fun day and it was just one of the many spontaneous and random activities that make this class so close and so joyful.
Congratulations Gracie, we celebrate with you! May you continue to be a blessing to many!
Grad Spotlight: Ava Datria
Ava has attended NCCS for 13 years. She enjoyed her time over these years in activities such as choir, volleyball, debate, art, and English. Her favorite verse is Psalm 98:18-19. Her future plans are to pursue a Master degree in Social Work and become a licensed social worker. One of Ava’s favorite memories from NCCS was in kindergarten when she vomited onto Braden and Nikki after a brutal tire swing session at recess.
Congratulations Ava, we are proud of you! Your are dearly loved at NCCS!
What is NCCS Planning for 2020-21?
It is our plan to open the school year on our campus Sept. 8. We are here for our families and excited to continue our partnership with you at NCCS in our student's education. For this reason, we are conidering how to best serve everyone throughout this pandemic, whether that is on campus or remotely. Thank you for taking time to provide input, it is greatly valued!
Staffing Updates for 2020-21 School Year
A few of our staff will not be back with us next school year, for personal reasons, and we pray for them where their journey continues. Mrs. Caitlin Burns (4th grade) is expecting a baby girl in the fall, so she will be home as a new mom for next school year. Mrs. Merrilee Klussman (5th grade) is taking time to finish writing her book, and will be a stay-at-home mom to her four children who will still attend NCCS. Mrs. Kayla Artman (EA) is expecting a baby in December and will also care for a family member's baby next year, so she will be very busy with newborns. We expect to still see each of them around our campus in the future, as a mom of NCCS students, or as a sub for us as they are able.
To add to our staff, we welcome Carmen Moore as an administrator to support our students. Mrs. Moore's title is Dean of Students, which means she will work with all students and staff in K-12, in the areas of: master/class scheduling, MAP/SAT/AP, college/career guidance, CCC/GCU/Online courses, NHS, graduation & advancement, student support plans/services, international students, grade progress (monitoring, counseling, intervention), and curriculum & instruction leadership. She comes with over 20 years experience in Christian education as a teacher, Principal, and Dean, at all levels from elementary through college. Mrs. Moore will begin on July 1.
God is so good in his love for us. Giving him the glory for these blessings!
Enjoy this upbeat music video as a reminder God is with us and his love never ends. AMEN

2020 Virtual Spring Choir and Band Concert
I’m really excited to share our journey from live to virtual music from these incredible kids. Listen, laugh and love along with NCCS as we share our hearts and lives and embrace a new medium with the same heart and message...and just a little crazy. Okay...a lot of crazy and embracing some imperfection to share our purpose. I’m finding raw and virtual can be a powerful combination. -Mrs. Steele
