What exactly happens when you have prostate cancer is the cells in you prostate begin to grow out of control and sometimes spread to near by lymph nodes. The main body part that is affected is the prostate.

Diagnosis
Prostate Cancer is diagnosed through a DRE, (Digital rectal exam). During this process your doctor inserts a gloved, lubricated finger into your rectum to examine your prostate.

About 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.
Prostate cancer develops mainly in older men. About 6 in 10 cases are diagnosed in men aged 65 or older, and it is rare before age 40. The average age at the time of diagnosis is about 66.
