IMPORTANT NEWS
Tik Tok "Challenges"
I was hesitant to even bring this up because I know in my heart that our Eagles and Bulldogs have more sense than to engage in the upcoming Tik Tok "Challenges" and at the same time, I want you all to know exactly what I expect from you in response to them: Be better and IGNORE them.
Every day, at the closing of the announcements, your classmates say:
"And remember...Respect Yourself. Respect Others. Respect Property. And, have a GREAT Eagle Day!"
Everything about these immature and reckless challenges negates this. There is nothing respectful about destroying, stealing, harassing, or hurting others/property.
So, just in case...if it even crosses your mind that it may be funny or cool to try on any of these challenges, I suggest you first read about California Education Code, NLMUSD Board Policy, and CA Penal Code and understand that the consequences outweigh the few moments of satisfaction or attention you may get from a like or a share.
So, DON'T do it. Instead....
RESPECT Yourself.
RESPECT Others.
RESPECT Property.
And, have a GREAT Eagle Day!"
With Love,
Dr. Padilla

ATHLETICS
Feature Student-Athlete: JANEEN RAMOS
Janeen is in 11th grade and has been part of the Cheerleading team for 2 years, Soccer team for 3 years, and ASB (Currently ASB Secretary) for 3 years. Janeen says she is a boring person because spends all her time at school, but we disagree. She does so much for the school and other people that she might not even notice how much is she actually doing.
Janeen has a very positive and welcoming personality. She always seems to be smiling, in a great mood, and always willing to help. This will be essential for her future plans of becoming a nurse. She isn't sure where she wants to go to college yet, but she has her eyes set on somewhere in the State of Washington because of her love for Grey's Anatomy. She doesn't have too much spare time, but when she does she really enjoys baking, helping her family clean around the house, and studying different make-up techniques.
Janeen's cheer coach, Coach Tiffany Avendano, had this to say about her:
Janeen is an active member of the cheer team. What makes her stand out the most is the contagious smile on her face that constantly shines and brightens everyone's day. Her positive attitude is her greatest leadership strength. She always sees the best in her teammates and in other people. She is never afraid to give compliments to other cheer teams. This goes to show her amazing sportsmanship.
Janeen, we are fortunate to have you as a student here at John Glenn High School and thank you for helping to brighten the day of all those around you.
