News to Know...
Dear Stoller Families,
I can’t believe it’s already October. I know that some of you, as well as students, have been asking about Halloween costumes. As before, students can dress up for Halloween; however, please no masks, painted faces, or any accessory that may resemble a weapon. Thank you for your cooperation.
As some of you know our PTO kicked off their 50 for 50 campaign. Without having JumpStart this summer, they were unable to get the word out to our community about this. Please visit their website for more information.
If you attended the Science Olympiad meeting, please click here to receive follow up information.

International Walk and Bike to School Day
- It increases community traffic safety
- It increases physical activity
- It reduces traffic congestion near schools
- It teaches safe transportation skills to children
- It increases awareness of how walkable a community is and where improvements need to be made
- It's FUN
Plan now for a safe walk and bike ride to school by checking out the Stoller map on the Beaverton Safe Routes to School website.
Pre-Payment for Online Support Videos for AGS1 & AGS2 Students
The curriculum authors for AGS 1 & AGS 2 offer online support videos that correspond to each Ready. Set. Go! (R.S.G) homework assignment. Students are able to rent them at a substantial reduction of a cost of $4.00 (rather than $24) for the year. In order to make a pre-payment go to the Online Payment System https://or-beaverton.intouchreceipting.com/manage/. Students can pay the reduced cost from Friday, Oct. 5th through Monday, Oct 15th. Students who pay $4 will receive the code to rent the videos sometime towards the end of October or early November. After students receive the code, they will then be able to access the videos.
Badminton Club - Session Two
Is your child interested in improving their badminton skills and playing challenging games? What a great way to start the day!
Session 2 of Badminton Club starts the week of October 15th and the cost is $35. Detailed information about the dates and times may be found on the Badminton registration form. You may also pay online. Please note if you pay online you must still turn your registration form in to the attendance office. All registration forms are also available in the attendance office. Payments may also be made with check or cash.
Disc Golf Club
Disc Golf is similar to regular golf; however, instead of using golf clubs and balls to aim for a hole, disc golf players use golf discs (similar to frisbees) and aim for a basket on a pole. Players try to throw their disc into the basket in the fewest amount of throws. Learn basic throwing techniques and rules of play.
Disc Golf Club will be on Thursdays from 4:05-4:50pm on the softball field beginning October 18th. This club will be limited to 20 participants. Please fill out the permission form (also available in the Counseling/Health Room) and turn it in to Mrs. Olsvik in the Counseling/Health Office.
Stoller Cross Country
Stoller Piano and Strings Club - Update
Stoller Piano and Strings Club is for students who play instruments that are not included in band or choir classes. An opportunity to perform for each other and collaborate in small ensembles.
This club will be on Thursdays from 4-5pm in room M17 (Choir Room) beginning October 18th. Please fill out the permission form (also available in the Counseling/Health Room) and turn it in to Mrs. Olsvik in the Counseling/Health Office.

Stoller PTO - "50 for 50" Fundraiser
Thank you Stoller Families. As of today, we have received $7,361.97 via check and online donations. We have another $4,004 coming from families who donated using their employer’s online donation websites. This brings our total to $11,365.97. This amount represents donations received from about 20% of our families. We still need almost $39,000 to make the campaign a total success.
If you have not donated to the Stoller PTO please consider doing so. Donations can be made online at StollerPTO.com or in person at the front office. You can also donate during Parent/Teacher Conferences. This is our ONE AND DONE fundraising drive. Your donation ensures the PTO can continue to support programs such as Art Literacy, Renaissance Faire, and Stoller Arts Night and also help us achieve big goals of modernizing the library and creating the all new Maker Space.
Art Literacy Is Looking For Volunteers
Last Reminder...
Join us for this opportunity to enrich your child’s classroom experience with art history lessons and hands-on art projects. Art backgrounds are not needed, just an interest in spending a day helping students tap into their creativity!
The first training date is Tuesday, October 9th at 9:15am in the new Art Lit Classroom. Volunteers must be cleared through the Beaverton School District before they can work in the classroom. This can be done by clicking on the Get Involved Page on the Stoller PTO website.
Contact Chandra Innes at StollerPTOArtLit@gmail.com for further information!
Learning Options
The application timeline has changed for the 2019-2020 school year. The lottery application phase has been shortened to make Second Consideration applications available earlier. This will allow students more time to work on their applications and schools more time to review them.
The Beaverton School District is nationally recognized for high student achievement and innovative programs. Beaverton students in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to investigate learning options that best fit their academic needs. Students can choose their neighborhood school or apply for one of a number of learning options. Transportation is provided.
Applications for the 2019-2020 school year will be available starting Monday, October 15, 2018. Please plan to attend one or more of the open houses that are available (dates and times coming soon). Students may only select one option on their application, so do some early investigation of the options online.
All applicants must reside within the Beaverton School District boundaries. Beginning October 15, current Beaverton School District students are able to apply online using their student ID. Resident students not currently attending a Beaverton school, or who do not have Internet access, will need to complete a paper application available online, or at any school office beginning October 15, 2018. Please give careful consideration to your choice of school. Once an application has been submitted, no changes will be allowed.
Applications must be received no later than Friday, December 7, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. (PST).
