Stuart Middle School emphasizes the importance of Social-Emotional learning on a daily basis. We understand that the impact of our current circumstances might have long-lasting effects on the mental health of some of our Raptors. Our Raptors engage in daily lesson to help them gain the knowledge, attitudes, and skills that will help them be better prepared to manage the day-to-day challenges of growing up. Our lessons also target academic success, postsecondary and career readiness, as well as social-emotional development.

Important To-Know and To-Do Information
To Know:
- PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD BRINGS A JACKET EVERY DAY. It is very difficult for us to take them outside for recess if they are not wearing appropriate clothing. Raptors need the fresh air and the space. Please have them bring a jacket daily.
- If your child will be returning in-person, you MUST fill out THIS form.
- Students can receive academic support on a daily basis by attending Raptor Café.*

Raptor Café!
Purpose: The PURPOSE of Raptor Café is to provide a universal and/or targeted opportunity for students to receive general support related to technology, Google Classroom navigation, communication with teachers, organization, grade checks and general assignment questions, including CER writing structure, locating resources and moving through stuck points.
If your child is struggling with managing or access assignments or support, please remind them to attend Raptor Café.

Live Parent Education Event (Webinar-style)
Topic: COVID-19 Vaccine
Date & Time: Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 7:00 PM
Children’s Hospital Colorado infectious disease specialist Jessica Cataldi, MD, MSPH, will discuss the basics of how mRNA vaccines work, the efficacy and safety of the currently authorized COVID-19 vaccines, and review the recommendations about vaccine allocation and prioritization in Colorado. Following her presentation, Dr. Cataldi will be available to answer participant questions live.

ACTION REQUIRED- COVID Updates

If your student is returning to IN-PERSON learning next week please support us by completing this form by January 12th, 2021. Completion of this form is a requirement for students to engage in in-person learning. If you have more than one student at Stuart Middle School, you only need to fill out the form once. Please just make sure to include all of their names and click on all of their advisory teachers.

Starting next Tuesday, the district will be sending out a health screener to every family every morning. You will ONLY fill out the form if your Raptor is sick or is not attending school due to exposure. If your Raptor is healthy it will not need to be filled out.
NJHS Helping Health Drive
Stuart NJHS will be hosting a Helping Health Drive to support the Henderson Community Church and Food Bank. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and PPE items starting on January 14th. The Helping Health Drive will run from January 14th to January 29th. Students are asked to bring items to their Connect21 teacher for collection. The top 3 classes who collect the most items will be rewarded with prizes.
8th Graders The STEAD School Might Be for You!
1. Construction will be underway next week!
2. We're hiring our teachers now.
3. We plan to offer the following sports next fall (volleyball, B & G soccer, B & G basketball, baseball).
4. Enrollment is open for just one more month (closes 2/15) with probably a lottery on 2/28.
5. Info nights every week for interested families.
6. The website has been updated a good bit so it's a good place for families to start if they want more info or want to sign up for something.
