Accessing Report Cards
New This Year: Paperless Report Cards and Progress Reports
Report cards will be distributed this Friday, December 18th.
This year, for the first time at the elementary level, ALL report cards (for all students in grades 3-5) and progress reports (if your child has an IEP) will be paperless and viewable online for parents through our Aspen/X2 Family Portal. Please see the link below with instructions on how to access these reports. I highly recommend logging into the family portal prior to the time report cards are viewable.
Using a document camera allows our students to get a closer look at thinking and at work. Here an art teacher can provide students with a close up view of a cutting technique.
Students at home and at school have the same view.

Remote Learner Transition
Most of our fully remote learner families have responded to the survey sent by the superintendent's office. We will be able to welcome students that have chosen to return to our hybrid model back to school safely, while maintaining 6 foot distancing in all classrooms. All students will remain with the classroom teacher(s) they started with this year. Approximately half of our fully remote learners are coming back to school for in person learning beginning on January 19, 2021. Again, those current fully remote students who have chosen to return to school will be able to do so safely, in their current homerooms with 6 foot distancing.
Early Dismissal on Wednesday, 12/23.
Wednesday, December 23rd is a half day of school. All students will be dismissed at 11:35am that day. Most of our students learn remotely on Wednesdays. Students and staff will sign off at 11:35am. There will not be any school work assigned that afternoon. Time to take a break and "power down." It is time for 2020 to end!
Music class emphasizes rhythm and movement. Although students are viewing their instructor
on a screen, our music classes get students moving and grooving!

Final Message of 2020
On behalf of the RO Community, I wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season and I wish us all hope and unity in the new year. Thank you so much for partnering with us in the education of your child during this challenging year. We have all had to adapt quickly and sacrifice so much for the benefit of our children. We are doing the best we can and we are teaching and modeling for our children valuable, lifelong lessons about perseverance, resilience and how to look for the good when so much around us is dark.
I am so proud of our entire staff at RO for having the courage and the competence to put themselves on camera all day, every school day, and somehow reach each of their students at home, in daycare centers, in workplaces and in school at the same time. The time, coordination and competence it takes to do this successfully is tremendous. Our teachers have been nothing short of heroes during this crisis and I am most grateful to be a part of this extraordinary community.
