During the week, there were so many moments of kindness and compassion demonstrated. In this moment of heartbreak and loss, we couldn't be more proud to be a RACER.

Please continue to keep Mason Dobbs, Class of 2025, and his family in your thoughts as they continue to recover.

Missing Important School Emails

Are you receiving messages that are delivered by NHS? If not, please check your preferences found on the IC portal. In the students' Personal Contact Information in Infinite Campus, the student should update their Messenger Preferences to include their cell phone and school email address, along with placing a check in the boxes to receive messages.

See the picture below.

Students who need help updating their permissions should stop by the Registrar's Office.

Virtual Day/Parent Teacher Conferences--October 7

Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 7th. Students are highly encouraged to participate in conferences. Newcastle High School is using PTCFast.com to make signing up for a conference with your student’s teacher as convenient as possible. To schedule a conference with a teacher, please enter the following web address into your browser window:

All conferences will be held virtually by Google Meets or Zoom unless in person conference is requested to the teacher. The teacher will email the link to the address used to sign up for the conference.

Please contact the teacher by email if a different time or date other than what is available on the website is needed for a conference.

Wednesday, October 13, Test Day

On Wednesday, October 13, all students in grades 9-11 will participate in achievement tests. The testing session is expected to last no more than 4 hours. Students who attend MATC in the AM will be excused from attending on October 13. These tests provide our teachers, counselors, administrators, parents and students with data reflecting the students current level of achievement. Students should take these tests and any other tests given seriously as their scores impact remediation, enrichment and placement and programming offered at NHS.

In the coming days, students will receive information regarding their testing location. Questions about the tests should be directed to Mr. Adam Hull, ahull@newcastle.k12.ok.us

Spring 2022 SWOSU Concurrent Enrollment

SWOSU concurrent enrollment will open for the Spring 2022 semester starting October 2nd. Attached you will find a copy of the Concurrent Enrollment Signature Form that must be complete. Classes fill up quick, so please turn in these completed packets to SWOSU as soon as possible. If they get them before October 2nd, they can begin planning the student’s schedules now, and that will make it easier to enroll on October 2nd.

Please note: you will also need to apply to the university if you have not already.

Included, is a Concurrent Enrollment Help Sheet, with important information for college students to know. It might also be a good idea to send this worksheet to your parents so they can be familiar with some of the terms used in higher-ed and might feel more comfortable asking questions.

Finally, There is another form that explains how to search for courses and how to fill out the concurrent packet; “Class Schedule Sheet”. This will help you when searching for classes to take and when listing out the concurrent classes on the packet.

Please let Garrett Decker (info below) know if you have any questions! He's always happy to help in any way that he can. He's sometimes hard to reach in the office, so sending him an email or a text is always the easiest way to reach him.

Also, he doesn’t usually answer phone calls if he doesn’t have the number saved.
