Principal's Message

Dear Murwood Community,

Although we are ending this school year in an unprecedented manner, I want to take this time to thank all of you. You all welcomed me into this community with open arms. This has been such a wonderful school year. I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and working with such an amazing staff and truly wonderful students.

We came together with some wonderful community events such as Welcome Back Day, Welcome Back Picnic and the Fall Carnival. Students showcased their amazing talents during the Spelling Bee, Science Fair and Talent Show. I am so incredibly proud of our students and their accomplishments.

To all of my 5th grade students, I wish you all the best as you transition on to your new chapter of learning. You will have such an amazing time in middle school.

While these are uncertain times, one thing stays constant, our community is stronger together. Please look for emails from myself and Superintendent Morgan throughout the summer for updates regarding the structuring of the 20/21 school year.

I hope that you all are able to have a restful summer and are able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and your families.

Please stay safe and healthy.

Report Cards

This year, parents can view and print end of the year report cards at noon on May 29 in the parent portal of Aeries, following these directions. As we have been participating in remote teaching and distance learning due to COVID 19, each student will receive a P (Participation), NM (No Mark), or X (Not Assessed at This Time) in all areas of ELA and Mathematics on their report card. Teachers will provide each student with a narrative comment referring to their progress across the whole year.

We are so proud of our families’ hard work during this time and appreciate your partnership as we all worked together to provide our students opportunities to continue learning outside of the classroom through this unprecedented Distance Learning model.

Notes From the Office

IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR ALL 5TH GRADE STUDENTS

Dear Parents-

All students entering middle school in the WCSD are required to complete Residency Verification. Due to the construction at WCI this summer, we will be doing a remote residency verification for all students transitioning from Murwood 5th grade to 6th grade at WCI/Tice Creek.

Please take a moment to fill out the form here and upload your proof of residency documents. If you have questions, I can be reached at nkaye@walnutcreeksd.org . The deadline for completing this required process is Friday, May 29th.

Stay well,

Mrs. Kaye

Thank You to Our 2019-2020 WCEF Donors

On June 3, Las Lomas will congratulate the Class of 2020 officially and 385 students will become alumni. If you donated to WCEF, you not only supported your child but all 5,100 students in eight schools. You brought music and the arts to classrooms and homes, you provided resources like libraries and databases, you made 12 additional classes and the Wellness Center possible at Las Lomas. You helped create countless opportunities and supported these future teachers, leaders, artists, musicians, scientists, dreamers and entrepreneurs. Thank you.
