Brilliant Brains Bulletin- 2nd
Mrs. Rhodes- February and March
Current Studies and Explorations
Students are currently studying biodiversity in their science classrooms. We will be building upon this content and expanding further in our gifted class this month. Students will apply scientific practices to design experiments with worms and pillbugs. Students will collect authentic data from their own experiments and communicate their findings to a broader audience. We will also do some comparative anatomy with dissection of owl pellets. Students will read non-fiction and will learn to participate in and conduct Socratic seminars to discuss ideas from the text.
Parents, Please look for communication coming home (email and hard copy flyer) soon regarding the opportunity to visit our class to view students' stop motion animation projects. Also, if you haven't checked out your child's electronic portfolio lately, I encourage you to do so. I know you and your child can have great conversations about what he or she has been up to in our gifted class recently.
Thanks!
