Adjectives

Examples:
- happy
- a color
- frustrated
- That boy is very happy.
Adverbs
Adverbs are words expressing words. They also modify verbs, adjectives, and other verbs.
Examples:
- quickly
- carelessly
- angrily
- He quickly threw the ball.
Conjunctions
A conjunction are words that combines phrases or clauses.
Examples:
- but
- and
- or
- I like cake and ice cream.
Interjections
Interjections are words that exclaim a character.
Examples:
- oh, no!
- Yeah!
- gosh!
- Oh, no! I broke my nail.
Nouns
A noun is a person, place, or thing.
Examples:
- Iowa
- Your house
- A person
- I live in Iowa.
Prepositions
Prepositions are words that combine with a noun or pronoun to form a phrase.
Examples:
- to
- at
- by
- They're going to town.
Pronouns
Pronouns replace nouns, if we didn't have pronouns we'd have to keep repeating nouns.
Examples:
- They
- He
- You
- They are very nice.
Verbs
A verb expresses an action or a state of being.
Examples:
- run
- stop
- laugh
- I love to run.
