Community Edition volume 1.0

The Library is OPEN!

Welcome back to school! Your amazing students have been back to school for a month now and I feel lucky to have seen most of them. Most ELA classes have come in to check out class sets, I've had lots of advisory groups come over to check out books for their own reading enjoyment and the 5th Grade CTR classes all came over for a lesson on how to find books in our library.

Students are welcome to come to the library during their lunch (with a pass from their lunch room teacher) to check out or return a book.

Check out our online Card Catalog

Wondering what books we have available at the school library? Take a look at our online card catalog. From the IACS home page click on the Library link and you'll be there. or click here :

From there you can explore the Library home page, get access to Encyclopedia Brittanica, as well as a huge range of research databases that are all available for students to use for projects or exploring on their own.

Volunteers needed in the library

Do you have an hour or two to spare? Do you like spending time with school age children? Do you like being surrounded by books in the most beautiful room at IACS? If you answered yes to even one of those questions, have I got an opportunity for you! The IACS library is in need of some volunteers. No amount of time is too small, an hour here and an hour there will really helps get these projects done!

If you are interested, please fill out the google form here: or you can email Mrs Landis directly at

Check out our featured display, Banned Books!

This month we are talking about Banned Books in honor of Banned Books Week September 27th - October 3rd.

Talk to your students about the importance of being able to read whatever they choose.

To be clear, the books pictured below have been banned in other towns or other libraries, all the titles pictured here are on our shelves, ready to be read. Be a REBEL READER!
