Seesaw Information for ES Vanguard
This information was given to ES METIs but is applicable to Vanguard as well. If you are a Seesaw ambassador or heavy user at your school, please contact Mindy Ramon regarding School Admin access.
---
Recently the Instructional Technology Department purchased Seesaw for Schools for all elementary schools. Seesaw is a student-driven digital portfolio that empowers students of any age to independently document what they are learning at school and share it with their teachers, parents, classmates and even the world. Many teachers and students across the district have already been using the free version.
Each school needs to have at least one school admin who can set up accounts for teachers. You have been designated as a school admin. You should be receiving an email soon from Seesaw with directions on how to access this account. It is important that you respond within one week to the email invitation to set up your admin account. The invitation expires after that. All teachers who already had a free Seesaw account have been moved over to our district subscription. You will only need to setup accounts for teachers new to the Seesaw system as they request. Once teachers have an account they have the ability to create a class and set up accounts for students. The use of this tool is completely optional.
Instructional Technology will be communicating out information about Seesaw to Vanguard and CSTs over the next couple weeks. We will be letting them know to contact you if they would like an account setup. Directions on how to setup teacher accounts are linked on an FCS Seesaw info site that has been setup. There are also directions for how to set up school admin accounts for other people (CST, Vanguard, principal, etc.) as needed.
More information and training on Seesaw will be available in the future. There are several Getting Started tutorials linked our Seesaw info site. Please feel free to reach out if you have additional questions.

FROM GRAD SCHOOL TO YOUR SCHOOL
Coggle - Collaborative Mind Map
This week's installment of "I made this for grad school, so I'm passing it along" highlights the collaborative mind-mapping tool Coggle. It's quick and easy and a great tool for all ages. Take a look at some of the samples on the site, and if you really need more, you can watch the mini-screencast I made for school.
