Brief Description

Main Duties

  • Bag, box or parcel purchases for customers
  • Stock shelves and display areas and keep stock clean and in order
  • Direct customers to location of articles sought
  • May sweep aisles, dust display racks and perform other general cleaning duties
  • May operate cash register

Work environment

Working conditions in most grocery stores are pleasant, with clean, well-lighted, climate-controlled surroundings. Grocery stores are open more hours and days than most work establishments, so workers are needed for early morning, late night, weekend, and holiday work.
