Presidential Roles

Chief Citizen

President Knope has the executive power to enforce and lead the nation; doing so with a firm and serious demeanor, but appears understanding and approachable when addressing the nation. Admittedly writing her own speeches, she wishes to connect directly with the American people as their leader; breaking down the barrier between political elitists and everyday citizens. She displays educated rhetoric and gets directly to the point, addressing major problems and what they are currently doing to improve them.

Chief of State

Knope is the ceremonial head of the U.S. Government awarding citizens with honors and achievements. She focuses on honoring citizens in a variety of categories such as students of academic merit, social activists accomplishing change, and people serving our country. Setting a standard in a variety of interest areas, showing how every person has a way to contribute to the greater good of this country. Knope is an international advocate for equal rights and prevention of global warming. She started the Knope4Hope foundation for poverty prevention, giving non-violent criminals as well as their families options to succeed and break the cycle. Knope also uses her position to empower women leaders in business and politics. Knope often addresses the issue of equal pay for women around the world, as well as the awful treatment of women in some countries.

Commander in Chief

As commander of the United States armed forces, Knope sees no need to expand the most powerful military in the world and works to even out other areas of our country by cutting back on unnecessary military spending and involvement. Knope has brought soldiers home, directing efforts to more domestic issues, and free'd up spending for other areas like education while still ensuring adequate protection.

Chief of Party

Although President Knope is the executive leader of the Democratic Party, she firmly holds ideologies from both parties. Knope has worked from the top to begin breaking down the wall between Democratic and Republican. She wants decision making to be based on the facts of each situation rather than its "party Affiliation". Knope hopes to achieve this by encouraging individual ideologies as grounds to find similarities and ensuing compromise amongst the parties.

Chief Legislator

As the main Architect of public policy, Knope insures fair handling of all bills as well as thorough research and consideration done before making a legislative decision. Knope feels its important to be an informed and involved in legislation to ensure "that the Laws be faithfully executed," as described in her duties. President Knope also advocates for the power of line-item veto in order to help control pork barrelling. She favors the appropriate turnover of persons in congress, seeing no progress in a high re-election rate and an overall low approval reading.

Chief Executive

When making decisions, Knope refers back to her original campaign promises but realizes that changes and compromise has to be made. When deciding on something that doesn't align with her original campaigned plan, she is sure to address the media, or occasionally, the people of the United States to explain her reasoning and address how this will affect her current plans for the rest of her term. Although she has the power of executive decision in some situations, president Knope feels that it is unnecessary, that compromise always has a better outcome. In the event of the country needing a quick decision, Knope ensures that she will always consult her cabinet. As Knope always says, "The presidency should be a single, booming voice, backed by several calm and collected voices."

Chief Diplomat

President Knope feels that we should focus more on domestic issues before maintaining our image as a "world superpower". She feels that our military's involvement in foreign affairs often creates more enemies than friends and limits our ability to insue action when a real threat reveals itself to the U.S. President Knope pushes the resolve of international conflicts in a peaceful manner. She has moved away from a policy of unilateral military action and enacted change towards a policy of emphasied diplomacy; ensuring the decision to go to war as her last resort.

Chief Administrator

President Knope strives for a substantial cut in military budget and other areas that have a surplus of unnecessary funding. She then rearranges this money to be "invested", as she says, into areas like education, research, and subsidized programs for the youth and unemployed. Knope also eliminated the deficit and had a surplus achieved by fiscal discipline. Knope also allowed more enterprise by maintaining low interest rates and encouraging private investments.
