Segregation
The Caste System was a way of discriminating people because of their hereditary status. When someone is born they are automatically ranked somewhere on the pyramid. If you are born rich you ARE rich. If you are born poor you stay poor. No matter how hard you work to secure more money or power you tend to stay in your birth status.
The caste system is part of the ancient Hindu life.
