Kudos!

Athlete Avenue: From AD Murphy....Congratulations to our football team for their 40-0 victory over Olympian on Friday! They secured the #6 seed in the CIF playoffs and will host Morse High School this Friday at 7:00 PM at SWC.

Our boys' waterpolo team earned the #5 seed in the the CIF playoffs and will host Castle Park tomorrow at 10:30 AM at Mater Dei. Good luck boys.

Our girl's volleyball team finished with a tough fought 3-2 loss to Olympian to end their season. Thank you ladies for all your hard work and dedication. Good luck next year.

The Lady Baron field hockey team took down ELH 1-0 to remain in 2nd place in the Mesa League. Good job girls!

Good luck to the girls' tennis doubles team of Jenny Oh and Kylie McLellan as they enter the CIF playoffs this Wednesday.

Come cheer on Women's varisty and jv Field Hockey vs Otay Ranch starting at 3 PM today at Otay.

Veterans' Day

Tomorrow is Veterans' Day and BVH salutes and is grateful to past and present members of our Armed Forces.

Counselor Corner

Counselors will continue to help seniors with college applications in the Computer Lab at lunch for the next 2 weeks.

Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment

Social Science co-hort training this Wednesday at SYH. Also on Wednesday is the 9th Grade Parent Night (Ds and Fs students) meeting in the cafeteria @ 6 PM.

Socratic Seminar

I observed Kalie Betts last week and she had her students engaged in a Socratic Seminar. It was powerful! Please contact Kalie. She has additional documents I am certain she will share.

Congratulations to Charleen Love and company for organizing another successful Districtwide Mod to Severe Soccer Tournament!

Yay to teacher Ashton Tanner who was awared a grant from the National Foundation for Autisim Research.

Help BVH's CSF in collecting blankets and clothing for Chula Vista's homeless population this holiday season. Boxes are located in the main office, Counseling Center and the ASB.

Excellence to the Crusader Staff who traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the JEA/NSPA High School Journalisim Convention last week.

School Safety

Technology

The last PowerSchool upgrade is scheduled on Monday , November 24th and will continue through the Thanksgiving break. PowerSchool will be not be available during this time. By Monday, December 1st, all will be upgraded and back on line.

This tool allows you to learn anytime and anywhere! Students can explore their interests and teachers can supplement their lessons with wonderful videos, web links, apps and more. You can do everything from a tour around Standford University to taking a course on economics at Harvard. This is an app that students and teachers should explore. Check it out.
