National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week
The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2023 is Be a Voice for Generations. The theme encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.
Give us one heart and one mind to walk together in the love and strength of your Spirit, in truth, reconciliation, and peace.
Amen

Dear Parents and Carers
Wellness Week
This week as we always do in Week 6 of each term, we have a particular focus on student and staff wellbeing. It is important for us all to strive for daily wellbeing in our spiritual, mental, social/emotional and physical lives. As adults we are role models to our students and Week 6 reminds us to recommit and to focus our energies on our wellness goals.
School Photo Day
Next week on Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th of June is school photo day. We understand that several families have been unable to source winter uniform items due to low stock in preparation for a new uniform. If your child does not have the full winter school uniform to wear for their class and individual photographs, they may wear their summer uniform.
P&F
On Monday we held our P&F meeting. We welcomed a new member from our school community and we encourage more parents or carers to join this friendly and vibrant group. You do not need any special skills, simply an interest in our school community. Our next meeting will be held on Monday in Week 2, Term 3.
Closing Gates
The closing of our school gates at 8.40am has resulted in many more students arriving on time and we thank families for their cooperation. Students need to arrive on time as they miss out on valuable learning when they consistently arrive late.
Code of Conduct
Conduct Statement 3: We give priority to students’ safety and well-being in all our behaviour and decision making.
This means that all adults have responsibility for the safety and well-being of our students. The safety and well-being of our students takes precedence in our decision-making and actions and we ensure that the voice of our students is heard.
Example of compliance with this statement are listed below:
- For staff – this means listening to students’ concerns, intervening in student behaviour that is unsafe and communicating with parents about student behaviour, academic performance and pastoral care.
- For students – this means engaging with others in a way that is safe.
- For parents/carers and visitors – this means coming to school or attending community events free from the influence of drugs or alcohol and providing the school with appropriate documentation in a timely fashion.
Pentecost
As we gathered at Mass last Sunday to celebrate some of our Year 6 students receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, we were all reminded that we can be changed through the power of the Holy Spirit. When we feel fearful, confused or hopeless, we can draw on the Holy Spirit to be strengthened and enabled to face challenges and to be a true witness of the Word in both our words and actions.
God bless you all.
