Our News-June 9
Mrs. Johnson~3rd Grade~Room 181~Forest Hills Elementary
The End is Here!
Thank you so much for all of your home support and communication this year. I was very fortunate to have such wonderful parents who were willing to do anything to help the class!
As your child transitions from school to summer, I hope they remember to:
get a little extra sleep :-)
read a few good books
enjoy the beautiful weather (hopefully I'll see you out and about in Eden Prairie at the parks, baseball fields, stores, etc)
I look forward to the Fall....hopefully many students will stop by for a quick HI, HIGH FIVE or HUG! I will miss each one of your children for being positive, bright spots in my day. They have permanent support in all they do from their third grade teacher.
Thank you for everything!
Grades on Campus
Student’s final grades within the Infinite Campus grade book will be available online at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, 6/13. Until that time, grades within the grade book should be viewed as preliminary as teachers are working on solidifying evidence of learning. Grades are not final until report cards are posted online on Monday, June 13th by 4:00 p.m.
If you do not see a grade for your child, please do not be alarmed. This simply means that your child’s teacher is solidifying their grade before posting it. Similarly, a change in grade over the final few days of school would also indicate that a teacher is entering final data into the grade book. If you have any questions, please contact your school directly.

Summer Reading Opportunities From the District
With the end of the school year quickly approaching, now is a perfect time to remind students about digital resources for reading.
- Eden Prairie Schools has a variety of ebooks available for grades K-8 through the MackinVia app (tutorial here: https://vimeo.com/145553651).
- Ebooks MN is a free initiative by the state to provide greater access to ebooks for all residents. They have children's and middle grades ebook collections available here: https://library.biblioboard.com/modules.
- Hennepin County Library offers a vast collection of ebooks for library card holders through Overdrive. They have a free summer reading program, Bookawocky, with fun events and resources: http://www.hclib.org/about/news/2015/June/summer-reading
Also, Barnes and Noble has a summer promotional giveaway where students (Gr. 1-6) earn a free book for completing a reading journal (see attached). A limited amount of print copies will be available in the media center for students and staff.
