East Elementary: Team East News
Staff Newsletter for 2017-2018, Episode 7
We are TEAM EAST!
It is March! I know you are as in shock about that as we are. What a wonderful year we have had! I have enjoyed having the opportunity over the past several weeks to reflect on the progress we all have made with our current goals and we are already in the early planning stages for next school year!
You have all worked so very hard and we couldn't be prouder! You deserve time to rest and enjoy your families so I am so grateful that Spring Break is just around the corner.
It is such a joy to get to serve the families of East Elementary with all of you!
Love you all!

Super Leader Night at East Elementary
- Reading Showcase - Grade levels are creating the activities for this time. Parents should come to their child's classroom for a self-guided tour of their reading goals this year.
- Reading Challenge - Families will choose a reading challenge time to come and visit our campus library and meet with Mrs. Goulden and Mrs. Zucosky. Parents will be introduce to the Adventures According to Humphrey series and given a reading log and several journal prompts to complete. All families that turn in the challenge this spring will receive a Reading Spirit Stick and will be entered into a drawing for a Family Fun Basket to be awarded (1 per grade level).
- DEAL Simulation - Families will choose a DEAL rotations to come and visit the gym and learn more about our Habits. Our Interventionists will be in the gym with Mrs. Thomas and students will use their DEAL handout they will be given to teach their parents about each habit. A slideshow will be playing that will share more about what DEAL time is all about.
- A Nacho Dinner will be served by our cafeteria workers in the cafeteria from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Please encourage your families to stop by and eat before they leave campus.
Thank you for your help in putting together a wonderful night for our families! We are looking forward to it. Let us know if we can do anything for you to help.
