Scholastic Book Fair—Next Week!

We will be holding the Scholastic Book Fair at Hillcrest from Monday, October 3rd to Friday, October 7th during school hours. Shop as a family during our evening hours on Monday, October 3rd from 5p—7p.

More information will be backpacked home with your children this week, so be on the lookout!

You may either send cash or check in with your child or set up an E-Wallet account on Scholastic’s site. Visit https://www.scholastic.com/bf/hillcrestschool2 to set up an account for your student.You can also donate to fund your teacher’s classroom library or donate a book to a Hillcrest child who may not be able to purchase one.

Feria del Libro Scholastic-¡La próxima semana!

Tendremos la Feria del Libro Scholastic en Hillcrest desde el lunes 3 de octubre hasta el viernes 7 de octubre durante el horario escolar. Compren en familia durante nuestro horario nocturno el lunes 3 de octubre de 5p-7p.

Más información será llevada a casa con sus hijos esta semana, así que estén atentos.

Usted puede enviar dinero en efectivo o cheque con su hijo o establecer una cuenta de E-Wallet en el sitio de Scholastic. Visite https://www.scholastic.com/bf/hillcrestschool2 para crear una cuenta para su estudiante. También puede donar para financiar la biblioteca del aula de su profesor o donar un libro a un niño de Hillcrest que no pueda comprarlo.

Fine Art Photo Mini Sessions

Jessica Rider Photography will be offering mini photo sessions for Hillcrest families on October 2nd and 4th at Central Park of Morris County. Don’t miss this chance to purchase beautiful photographs of your children together or individually.

There is a $10 session fee, plus the option to purchase prints (a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hillcrest HSA).

From our Art Teacher, Ms. Brown:

In kindergarten, first and second grade we extend art beyond the walls of the art room with a program called "Artists of the Month". Children are encouraged to extend their creativity outside of their time in art class. Student work is showcased on the bulletin boards near the main office. If your child is interested in being recognized in the arts, have them create art at home and bring it into Ms. Brown. Please make sure your child's full name and teacher's name is on each work of art. Artists' of the Month are recognized and presented with a certificate. Ms. Brown also sends home a survey for children and families to complete that is posted in addition to their artwork displayed so that our school community can learn more about the highlighted artist. If you and your child would like to hang the artwork up together, please let email Ms. Brown at cassandra.brown@msdk12.net
