ATTENDANCE REMINDER...
For a student to receive credit for a class, he/she must attend class at least 90% of the time to be eligible to receive academic credit.
This rule applies to both online and in-person scholars.
Please log in at the regularly scheduled time (online) for each class; get to class on time if on campus. This will guarantee that the attendance requirement will be met.

Be on the lookout for the NEW Maroon colored KOlture Bands! These are given to students who follow school rules and also maintain our social distancing rules for the campus.
Recipients can receive snacks and/or earbuds when the KOlture Kart comes by your classroom.

KOC COVID-19 Expectations UPDATE
-Wear your masks at all times while in the building. Please make sure that your nose and mouth are both covered by a mask.
-In walking through the hallways, please do not walk or sit in groups-follow established social distancing norms by following the 6-foot rule while on campus.
-Wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer to reduce the risk of infection.
(NEW) Blankets are not allowed at school; students should not bring them to the campus.
-While in the Commons, please sit in every other seat.

If you are a letter winner and need to order your letter jacket, please communicate with your coach or club sponsor and get reserved for a VIRTUAL jacket fitting through SSR Jackets.

Tech Issues? Students are to fill out the device work order on StudentNet and then visit KORC while they are on campus. A tech assistant will make needed repairs as soon as possible...
Attendance? Whether you are KOL (Klein On-Line) or KOC (Klein On Campus), your best bet to ensure that you earn academic credit this year is to attend your classes at their regularly scheduled times. If you know in advance that you are going to miss class, please communicate that to your teachers so they will know how to appropriately service your needs.
Buses? Students who need bus information can check the district website and obtain route numbers, stop locations, and pickup times.

1000 POINT SCORER ASHLYN JONES
With 28 points vs Tomball last Saturday, Jones has now eclipsed 1000 points for her career.
Ashlyn has accepted a scholarship to play basketball to Louisiana-Lafayette in Lafayette, Louisiana for next season.
Way to go, Ashlyn!

KLEIN OAK BOYS BASKETBALL UPDATE
Congratulations to the Boys basketball team for their impressive 53-49 win over Tomball on Saturday (1/2). The Panthers are currently 1-1 in district play and are looking to make a run at the playoffs!
The Panthers play again on Saturday (1/9) at Klein High. Tip-off is at 12 Noon.

KLEIN OAK Lady Panthers Softball
Try-outs for the Klein Oak Softball team will be Friday, January 15, 2021from 3:15-5:45 pm and Saturday, January 16 from 9am-11:30am. Prospective players must be present for both days to be considered.
Those trying out must have a physical on file with the trainers with all forms completed in the Rank One portal. Players will need a bat, glove, cleats, water, and a mask. If you are not in the softball class and wish to try out, speak to Coach Barry Wilson prior to tryouts.
KLEIN OAK Baseball Tryouts
Students who are interested in trying out for baseball need to see Coach Burks in his classroom during Panther Den at some point between January 5th-11th. Coach Burks will have all the information needed to be able to tryout. Prospective players must go by his room to sign up.
Online students who are interested must call the Athletic office at (832) 484-5000 to get more information.
KO Athletic Events Seating Expectations
As basketball season enters district play and other KO Athletic events occur on and off the campus, if you are going to attend KO Athletic events, please follow the established social distancing norms as established by the CDC.
This includes wearing a mask, sitting at least 6 feet apart from others, and washing hands and/or using hand sanitizer. These norms will assist in keeping the spread of COVID-19 down and allow our athletes, band, cheerleaders, Strutters and other student groups to be able to participate in extracurricular activities.
