Hat Day!
We have earned a special Hat Day from all our Boosterthon pledges! Your child may wear his/her favorite hat to school on Monday. We are getting close to "No Homework for a Week." I don't know if that is more of a treat for the parents or for the kids but either way...it's AWESOME!
Kindergarten Literacy Night/Christmas Program
Our annual Literacy Night will take place on December 10th at 6:30. We will have a brief informational session for parents regarding how to help your child with reading. Afterwards, the children will perform two songs for all of us. More information will be coming home next week. We hope you can join us!
Christmas Mug Exchange
We are going to have a Christmas Mug Exchange in conjunction with our Polar Express Day the last week of school. In the past, many parents have bought mugs from the Dollar Tree. Please make sure it is washed before sending it in. Mugs need to be at school by December 1st. That will give me time to purchase any mugs we may be missing. We will trade them and enjoy our hot chocolate while we wear pajamas on our Polar Express Day (December 2nd). I would like to provide some other goodies for the kids to munch on that day. If you can donate an item, be on the lookout for a sign-up in the next week.
*If you are unable to purchase a mug, it is no problem. I have extras! :)
Star Student
Franco is our Star Student this week! His favorite color is red and he loves to eat spaghetti. Franco's favorite sport is basketball and he thinks T-Rexes are pretty cool. Music is the class he enjoys the most here at school. If Franco could go anywhere, it would be to the zoo. He admires his classmate Ryan. Franco thinks he is special because "I am nice."
Neal
Neal has always loved to ride his bike but never tried to ride it without the training wheels. Slowly many of his friends started riding their 2-wheel bikes and he mentioned several times how he wanted to ride without training wheels. Neal tried a few times near the end of summer but found it hard to balance and just couldn't seem to figure it out. Finally, just this weekend he went outside and within just a few tries he could ride his 2- wheel bike without any help. Not giving up and focusing on the tips that his dad gave him for keeping his balance paid off and now he is riding all over the neighborhood and loving it!!
Anna
Anna wanted to learn how to tie a shoe. We sat down Saturday night for a lesson and she had it down within a few minutes! She is proud of herself for learning this new skill and can't wait to buy new shoes with shoelaces that she can tie by herself!
Thank you Jesse and Police Chief Moorman!
Jesse's dad is the police chief at NC State University and he made it possible for us to have a special visit from the mounted patrol. The kids LOVED it! Thank you so much!
