iReady Expectations
Your child can check to see how many they have completed by going to iReady, clicking on the subject area they want to see, going to "Completed Work" and seeing how many GREEN lessons they have passed for the dates of the week.
For example, this week is 10/9-10/13 so students will need 3 green lessons within those date ranges.
JDRF Walk Letter
Dear Pinckney Families,
We are writing to invite you to join Team Pinckney, walking in honor of our Pinckney
families affected by Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Those who are affected include Ms. Warta,
Mr. and Mrs. Douty, Nurse Bailey, as well as two of our very own students (Nahla and
Adrianna).
In honor of these families, we hope you will come to the Charleston OneWalk on Sunday,
November 12th. The walk is at Smythe Park on Daniel Island and the DJ and activities
kick off around 2:00. There will also be a food truck there! The walk itself starts after a
stage presentation at 3:00. It is a super fun day to raise T1D awareness!
There is no registration fee to join our team. Donations are welcome and can be done
online. Click the link below if you are interested in joining our team and/or donating.
https://www2.jdrf.org/site/TR?fr_id=9211&pg=team&team_id=342221
A specially designed Team Pinckney t-shirt will also be sold for $20 to support the
fundraising efforts. If your child would like one, you can purchase it on Revtrak
https://pinckney.revtrak.net/spirit-items/#/v/JDRF-T-Shirt. All proceeds from the
t-shirt will go directly to JDRF in addition to any donations made online on the team
site. T-shirt deadline is October 13th.
Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease that requires attention day and night. There is
no cure, and it cannot be outgrown or reversed. People with Type 1 need insulin to live,
yet too much of it can have devastating consequences. Constant finger pricks, shots and
relentless monitoring of blood sugar numbers for stable health are just the tip of the
iceberg for getting through a regular day. JDRF is the leading contributor to amazing
research to make life better and longer for T1Ds. In just 12 or so years, they have funded
products that were just a thought a decade ago, and now deliver life-saving alarms for
dangerously low or high blood sugar levels. Thank you for supporting these families,
and we hope you’ll come out and enjoy the fun!
