Did you know that gardening reduces stress and promotes health and wellness? Exposure to sunlight increases serotonin in the brain. Serotonin is a chemical in our bodies that helps to keep us feeling good. Fresh air is full of oxygen and can help us feel more energized. It can even help you sleep better at night.
A garden does not have to be huge or labor intensive. Start small with a few of your favorite flowers or vegetables. I can tell you from experience that tomatoes grow like weeds with nothing more than water and sunlight.
Get out there, put your hands in the dirt, breath that fresh air and grow something. You may find your spirits growing with your plants.
