It is hard to believe that the school year is ending already. Time has flown by! All the specialists have truly enjoyed working with your children and look forward to seeing everyone again in September! We hope you enjoy your summer and enjoy the last Specialist newsletter for the 2015-1016 school year.

Music Department

Thank you for a great year in Music!

We look forward to our next school year in 2016/2017! We will once again have three music teachers next year. Please look for us at the back to school BBQ in September and we will be sure to greet you! Next year will include musical clubs once again, watch for information regarding choir and marimba clubs in the Fall.

A Farewell Message from Mrs. Lin

Dear Kokanee Families,

It has been a privilege for me to teach your children music and work with you side by side in the past four years. I sincerely thank you for the support and encouragement you have given me along the way. As I reflect upon my teaching these past four years at Kokanee, I have grown with different perspectives on community building. There are wonderful, supportive parents and dedicated staff in the Kokanee community. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to spend my four years of teaching at Kokanee. I will miss this school community! I hope this is not a goodbye, but a new beginning of our friendship. As I’m teaching music at Hollywood Hill Elementary next year, I hope I will still have a chance to run into you and your family occasionally! “Sing and make music from your heart!”

Musically yours,

Yuh-Pey Lin

Library Department

Thank you!

It has been a great year in Library and both librarians share a heartfelt "thank you!" for all of your student's hard work during the 2015-2016 school year. We cannot wait to work with students again next year!

Thank you also to our amazing parent volunteers. We would not survive without your help!

Any new volunteers interested in the library for the 2016-2017 school year, feel free to email Leah Skosky at lskosky@nsd.org.

Overdue Books and Fines

Any books not turned in to the library have been marked as a "fine". Automatic calls will call any students on file with a fine. The automatic calls will continue until the book is turned in or the fine is paid. Before paying the fine, please double check your house and your child's classroom. Also check in with the Library to make sure it was not missed during the check in process. If you are certain the book is lost, all fines are paid in the Main Office. Thank you in advance for turning in all your books before the end of the school year!
