The high school girls’ basketball season is going great; they have set goals as a team and they have tried to accomplish them. The girls are 1-0 in conference. The Lady Raiders will have a tournament on Friday, the 9th, and Saturday, the 10th, at Jackpot. They are excited.
The Junior High girls are having a good season. They played Monday to see if they were going to the tournament for championships or not. The Junior High Lady Raiders are up with a win against Garden Valley (a team that was 5-1). They tried their hardest to get a W and they got it. “We played as a team and we came up with the W,” said Junior High Lady Raiders, Sintia Varela and Sami Jewett. How Much Firewood Do You Need?
By: Lance Smith and Kevin Meyers
It is said that if you are going to use fire wood for 5 months you need 1 ½ cords. But it all depends on the wood that you get because some wood is better than others. If you aren’t going to burn wood for all 5 months you will only need 1 to ½ a cord depending on how much you will burn. Some people will need more depending on the wood, wood stove or where they live.

Staff Spotlight on Lindsey Fuquay, SRO
Lindsey Fuquay is the School Resource Officer for Rimrock Jr-Sr High School. Fuquay came into this field because she feels like she can relate to the students and enjoys law enforcement. She loves kids; she has two kids herself a seven year-old boy and a five year-old girl. Her son thinks her job is very cool and her daughter is actually inspired by her to become a cop when she gets older. Fuquay is still in training, she is going to POST in January for ten weeks. She is constantly going through training because the law is always changing. Before she had kids Fuquay wanted to become a paramedic, but she got married and had kids and became a 911 dispatcher. Fuquay plans on being with us for four years, because she is here on a grant and that grant is four years long. “Work hard to achieve your dreams” is a quote Fuquay lives by. She went to college at College of Southern Idaho. She has an identical twin sister who works at a hospital. SRO Fuquay is the second female officer ever in Owyhee County. When she is not working and playing with her kids she usually draws or ropes. We are very thankful for SRO Fuquay she talks to us as a friend as well as person with authority.
