Grace Before Meals

Week Two
Good Job!

Fr. Leo talks openly about a way that parents can assure children of their confidence in them. The solution is simple, CELEBRATE! Use every opportunity you can find to specifically tell your child what they are doing right! Positive messages wear away any negative self-perception and build a sense of self worth. When times are tough, let your kids know you're willing to settle for less drama in exchange for a sincere hug. You are telling your children that it's their existence is a reason to celebrate every day.

( Fr. Leo Patalinghug, Grace before Meals http://gracebeforemeals.com/ ). Enjoy!

Let's Talk

Did your grade school teacher use gold stars? How did it feel to get one?

How did it feel when you did not get one?

Some sports leagues give trophies to everyone on the team, while others limit awards to their champions and stars. Which approach do you think is the most helpful to the players and why?

Have you ever helped a small child to learn to walk or learn the alphabet? How do you encourage him to keep going when the going gets though?

What do you want to celbrate next? How would you like to do this?

Let's Listen

Zephaniah 3: 14-20 Matthew 25: 14-30 Luke 15: 11-32 ll Corinthians 8

Thursday Faith Assembly - The Parable of the Good Samaritan Luke 10:33-37

The Simple Path
The fruit of silence is PRAYER.
The fruit of prayer is FAITH.
The fruit of faith is LOVE.
The fruit of love is SERVICE.
The fruit of service is PEACE.

O God, give us your Spirit's gifts of right judgement and courage

so that we may truly be the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus for everyone we meet.

We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
