Transportation Changes
For the safety of our students, any transportation changes must be made by written note with your signature and should be sent with your child at the start of the school day stating the alternate transportation arrangement. For your convenience, you may use the attached Central Elementary School Dismissal Change Form. No changes in transportation can be made throughout the school day in order to ensure all students depart the school safely as per the Valparaiso Community School district's policy. Also, the Valparaiso Community Schools transportation department is unable to allow students to ride the bus home with other students. Thank you!

Support the Porter County Animal Shelter Through the Paws Project
Our Student Council is continuing to collect items for the Porter County Animal Shelter through Tuesday, Jan 31. Please donate new and used items. Old towels are always appreciated, too! Thanks so much for those who have already donated!
Jar Wars is Coming!
Student Council will be sponsoring a Jar Wars competition. Jar Wars is a fun way to donate your coins and extra dollar bills while helping the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society raise money for children with blood cancer. It starts Thursday, February 9 and ends Thursday, March 9.
· The first 2 weeks is Phase 1 when each class tries to make as much money for their class box as they can
· The last 2 weeks is Phase 2 when you put money into other boxes. That amount will be deducted from the original amount that was collected from Phase 1 in order to determine the winning class
· Prize: Winning class will get a pan of Mrs. Gonzalez’s brownies and a movie of the teacher’s choice
