Back to School with Kings Manor Elementary

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the Principal:
KME Families,
What a wonderful evening we had this past week at our Meet the Teacher event. Thank you to all who were able to make it. I know that this will be a fantastic year here at KME and I am looking forward to having our students return on August 9th. If I can help you in some way, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Stacey Paine
PreK and Kinder Parents
Parents of Pre-K and Kindergarten students, please join Mrs. Paine for a Boohoo/Yahoo Breakfast on the first day of school, Monday, August 9th, at 7:30. A light breakfast will be served.
New School Year Information
First Day of School:
Parents will be permitted to walk their children to classrooms on the first day of school. Every other school day, students will enter the school through the Gym and will be guided to their classrooms by our staff members. Thank you for helping us promote safety, independence, and responsibility for all students.
School Hours:
Class start time: 7:30am; Dismissal time: 3:00pm
KME doors open at 6:45am. Students who arrive after the 7:30 bell are tardy. Students will need to sign in at the front office and will be given a tardy slip to give to their teacher.
Breakfast & Lunch Routines:
Parents will not be permitted to eat breakfast with students, but are always welcome for lunch. For parent and student safety, visitors/parents are always required to check-in at the front office. We appreciate your help in ensuring our campus is safe for all.
Reporting an Absence:
Consistent school attendance is critical for the development of your child. When they miss school, we miss them! The entire school day is needed to deliver the full instructional program. Students need to come to school and attend the full day unless they have fever, communicable disease, or a family emergency. We ask that you schedule appointments around school hours whenever possible. When an absence is necessary, a note of explanation is required upon the student's return to school. You can complete an online absence note or submit a doctor's note HERE.
Communicating with the School:
Communication is a top priority for us at KME. For classroom concerns, please begin by speaking directly with your child's teacher. Teachers have limited phone and email access while they are with your child, so please allow them 24 hours to respond. Our front office phone number is 281-577-2940.
Arrival and Dismissal:
Please see the map below to learn how traffic flows through our parking lot for student dismissal and arrival. Note that there are 2 lines of traffic at dismissal only. For morning arrivals, follow the same route, but form one line of continuous traffic flow. Cars should enter the driveway on the west side of the school, nearest the railroad tracks.
